12 Weeks. 10 Events. 4 Realizations.

Updated: Aug 9

I’ve just wrapped up a 12-week tour across Europe’s conscious dance scene. As I write this, I sit in my beautiful home, nestled deep within the many mountain ranges of British Columbia, Canada. And while I’m deeply grateful for the stillness this sanctuary offers, I’m more aware than ever that it’s a long, long way from where my work truly lives.

"Where do you work?" People often ask me. Well, most recently:

Ecstatic Dance Lisboa

Dance the Medicine Facilitator Training in Portugal

Ecstatic Dance Bordeaux

Ecstatic Dance Montpellier

Ecstatic Dance Marseille

Dance the Medicine DJ Training in Italy

KAAP Amsterdam

Ecstatic Dance Amersfoort

Ecstatic Dance Finistère

Ecstatic Dance Gathering in France

And what did I learn this time?

1. That I'm not great at sharing sets. I know that many of you who came out to dance with me asked if I would be posting the set and I most likely said I would try. I am really sorry but honestly I'm notoriously bad at posting them. I did manage to upload the first set of the tour and the last which was opening night at the Ecstatic Dance Gathering in France. CLICK to listen and please LIKE the set since it sends me to the top of the Mixcloud charts and I love the dopamine rush!

2. The community is growing. And Dance the Medicine has played a meaningful role. At the recent Ecstatic Dance Gathering in France, over half the headlining performers were either alumni or team. This is deeply affirming and makes me proud as hell!

3. I need more fun in my life. This woman—Sophie Auber, founder of the Ecstatic Dance Gathering—inspired and challenged me to prioritize fun. It was a core value of her festival, and it worked! I had more fun at EDG than I’ve had in years. While I’m still devoted to DTM Trainings, I’m feeling called to play more festivals and lead more retreats—spending time not just with community builders, but with the dancers themselves. If you have a dance community and want to host a retreat, get in touch!

4. Home is not a house. As I write to you from inside this beautiful house, my respite feels bittersweet. The past 12 weeks have been filled with connection—dancing with Ornella, Sophie, Bruno, Nina, Mikaela, Ana, Yaya, Fabio, and so many others who believe in the power of dance to build community and keep humanity whole. In those shared moments, I felt completely at home. The global conscious dance community is my true home. Yet it’s a home that often lies thousands of miles away. Living at such a distance from the heart of my work no longer feels sustainable. Something needs to shift—and that truth is both exciting and heartbreaking.
